The Doubt was assembled after B.R. Mount recruited Danny Welch, Kaleb Shields, and Troy Ramsey to play what he thought would be a few shows in support of his solo album Slowin’ Down Time.

It didn’t take long to realize that the chemistry of the members was worthy of something more, and thus they became, B.R. Mount and The Doubt. After the pandemic, Danny moved across the country and they had to reinvent themselves as a three-piece. The band was scheduled to head to the studio in November 2022, but then Kaleb was hit by a car on his bike and things were postponed as he recovered. It was another setback for the band, but another opportunity to reinvent itself and simplify the name to better match their new sound.

The Doubt was then once again reimagined and reborn. After Kaleb’s shocking quick recovery, they have spent the summer of ‘23 finally working on their new album, soon to be released. In the meantime, you can catch them playing gigs in and around the Portland metro area.
